The Church of Christ in Venus, Texas is tiny but committed not only to reaching the people in their neighbor to tell them the good news but also people everywhere.
The congregation suppors Jim Corner who is currently working in Cameroon,Ghana, West Africa.
In conjunction with the Word Bible School, Jim Corner leads mission teams three times a year to Cameroon and Ghana. Since 1988, over 12,000 studies have been conducted, which have resulted in 4,7000 baptisms. The lastest endeavor in Africia is a seminar/workshop to teach 50-100 local preachers and church leaders in Cameroon how to effectively reach people with the gospel and to strengthen and encourage existing churches. When Jim is not visiting Africa, he travels to congregations throughout the U.S. promoting involvement in WBS, he has worked in more than 230 congregations in the past eight years.
